Nice to have a boring start to the workweek…isn’t it?!  This is the first Monday back to “normal” after the epic battle between Democrats and Republicans.  The government shutdown is over.  No more furlough.  Many people were happy to sit in rush-hour traffic, return to familiar office space, and Work-for-the-Man today.  It’s about time!

A friend shared a photo of an unusual animal park – a bear, a lion, and a tiger have somehow found a way to share living quarters and co-exist.  It’s a lot like the compromise reached by the 3 branches of government…tenuous, troublesome, temporary?  We will see how long it endures.

Personally, I’m pulling for a long-lasting agreement.  Too many friends and associates were negatively impacted by this furlough.  The ripple effects of the government shutdown spread coast to coast and across the globe.

To those project managers who saw their project plans completely hosed by the shutdown: you have my sympathies.  IF you had the foresight to identify this set of risks, I applaud you.  Well done!

Now, everyone: back to work!    And, smile about it!
