Andy Crowe is the CEO and founder of Velociteach, as well as the author of Alpha Project Managers: What the Top 2% Know that Everyone Else Does Not, and the most recently published PMI-ACP Exam: How to Pass on Your First Try. His textbook The PMP® Exam: How to Pass on Your First Try is the top-selling textbook worldwide to prepare for the PMP exam.
Andy’s career began in software development with firms such as Manhattan Associates and Intellinet. From there he moved on to working with globally -recognized organizations and projects such as Europe’s largest e-commerce site, Project Canopy, as well as serving on the Advisory board for Microsoft’s DNA and.NET.
In 2004, Andy served on the Project Management Institute’s team for the 3rd edition of the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK Guide)® and the Organizational Project Management Maturity Model (OPM3). Andy’s vision for Velociteach led to the creation of InSite, our premiere e-learning portal which is now used by Project Managers on six continents and his licensed training tools are being used in over thirty countries across the globe.
Andy is a Project Management Professional (PMP), a Program Management Professional (PgMP), an Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), and a Six Sigma Black Belt. He is passionate about jazz trumpet, and he served on the board of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Cobb County. He is an alumnus of the Leadership Cobb and Honorary Commanders programs and completed the Leadership Atlanta class. Andy lives in Kennesaw, Georgia with his wife and 3 kids.
Bill Yates is the Executive Vice President of Velociteach. He is responsible for the performance of Live Training, Licensing, Operations, Mobile Learning and Curriculum Development. Bill is one of the key architects of InSite, Velociteach’s revolutionary mobile learning system. Bill holds the Project Management Professional, Program Management Professional, and Agile Certified Practitioner credentials from the Project Management Institute.
Before joining Velociteach in 2005, Bill worked in the utility industry for eighteen years managing software projects across the United States. His experience was with some of the nation’s largest utility companies. He worked for EDS and went on to become one of eight original founders of Information Intellect, a leading provider of financial and accounting software and consulting in the utility industry. As a subject matter expert and project leader, Bill has managed projects for well-known telecommunication organizations such as BellSouth, Sprint, Qwest, and Verizon Communications.
From 2011-2013, Bill served on the Advisory Group for the PMI Registered Education Provider program. This group of eight advisors represented over 1,500 R.E.P.s, providing their professional knowledge and expertise to guide PMI’s R.E.P. program initiatives. Bill joined a diverse group of volunteers from the Netherlands, India, China, Switzerland, Costa Rica, Brazil, the UAE, and the USA.
Bill received a B.A. in Business Administration, graduating Magna Cum Laude from Furman University. He and his wife live in Kennesaw, Georgia.
Louis Alderman manages the instructional design team at Velociteach, responsible for curriculum development of Velociteach’s live class offerings as well as the development of courses delivered on InSite, Velociteach’s proprietary eLearning facility. He is a Project Management Professional, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and earned his Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Houston. Louis came to Velociteach after retiring with almost 29 years of experience at Hewlett Packard Company. Originally a member of HP’s Computer Systems field hardware support force, he developed and delivered training courses to increase troubleshooting productivity. He experienced successful tours of duty in HP technical computer sales as well as the computer peripheral OEM marketplace, where he was instrumental in the development and management of a peripheral distribution program for HP’s regional and national distributors.
Louis contributed 14 years of his career at HP in information technology project management and assisted in the creation of HP Managed Services’ project management office. He has managed many projects of global scope and has served as an internal project management consultant as a primary role in HP’s IT Project Management Office. He developed processes to facilitate cross-business-unit project prioritization, project selection, funding, and reporting of HP’s global IT project portfolio.
Louis holds certifications from the Scrum Alliance as a Certified ScrumMaster and from Project Management Institute as an Agile Certified Practitioner.
A native Georgian, Louis resides in the north Georgia mountains with his wife.
As lead of the business development team focused on Velociteach’s instructor-led classes (traditional classroom and webinar-based), Maggie supports our clients nationwide. She assists corporate customers in determining their project management training needs, and provides education on the live courses and training services Velociteach offers. Maggie works with clients to schedule private onsite training classes, discuss custom curriculum development options, and helps them take advantage of Velociteach’s public live training offerings as well.
Maggie holds a B.S. in Communication from Kennesaw State University. She lives in Marietta, GA with her teacup Chihuahua, Rosa, and loves to travel in her free time.
As the manager of Licensed Products at Velociteach, Serena Bogert is the primary contact for customers interested in delivering Velociteach’s ProQuip or InAct live training courses under license. She assists all current and potential licensed clients in determining their project management curriculum needs, registering for licensing, and navigating through InSite, Velociteach’s premier eLearning training resource. A key member of the Velociteach team, Serena also provides smooth and efficient coordination of business development and operational process design.
Serena holds a BBA in International Business and Finance from Kennesaw State University. She has lived in 4 different countries and traveled to over 14 others, and currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia.
Lisa Bryant is responsible for coordinating the efforts of the Operations Department, involving oversight of Client Relations and Operations as well as oversight of office administration functions such as Accounting and Human Resources. She has over 20 years of experience working within a large, global corporation, The Coca-Cola Company, as well as within medium-sized entrepreneurial-type environments like Home Federal Savings and Loan and Cork-Howard Construction. Lisa brings this breadth and depth of experience to Velociteach. Her knowledge base is diverse, primarily focused on Operations, Marketing, and IT, demonstrating strengths in organization, administration, project management, creative thinking, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Lisa holds Bachelor’s degrees as a double major in Psychology and Social Work from the University of Montevallo in Montevallo, Alabama. She also holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration in Marketing from Kennesaw State University. Lisa resides in Kennesaw, Georgia and is active in her church, enjoys reading, is an avid learner, and loves to entertain friends and family at her home.
Celeste Clancy’s primary role at Velociteach is to market and promote InSite. InSite offers self-paced eLearning for professional development and is designed by the leading provider of project management education. She works directly with customers and resellers from universities, corporate clients, and other training companies to design a custom offering that meets their needs. She also oversees the production and deployment of Manage This, a podcast by project managers for project managers.
Celeste graduated from The University of Georgia with a degree in Communications and Advertising and currently resides in Acworth, Ga with her husband and two dogs.
As Velociteach’s Student Success and Social Media Coordinator, Karen is responsible for recruiting students for and marketing our PMP Exam Prep Bootcamp as well as other project management courses. Karen provides education on the live and virtual courses offered working to find a training solution that works best for the customer. She also manages all Velociteach social media outlets including Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and LinkedIn and assists with Velociteach’s marketing initiatives.
Karen Carter graduated with her BA in History with a minor in Psychology from the University of North Georgia. She enjoys painting, spending time with her family, cooking, singing, and everything Disney. She and her husband live in Woodstock, GA. They love hiking and exploring new places!
Becky Hodgins is responsible for coordinating all aspects of onsite classes, providing outrageous customer service to both businesses and individual students alike. She is the single point of contact for corporate and government clients in the delivery of live training classes, and she assists our students in interacting with PMI as they work toward earning their PMP® or CAPM® certification. Becky also provides oversight in the daily operations of our corporate office.
Prior to joining Velociteach, Becky worked for nearly 20 years in Prudential’s Atlanta office, providing customer service in their relocation division. She enjoys cooking, gardening, and scuba diving and resides in Canton, Georgia.
Tina’s early career centered on her love of education. As a graduate of the University of New Mexico with a degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood, Tina started as a busy kindergarten teacher. Her focus changed, however, when the corporate world took notice of her skills in administration and customer service. Tina accepted a variety of positions in operations and client relations at The University of New Mexico, SED Medical Labs and eventually with IBM in Albuquerque. Her career at IBM involved a transfer to Atlanta where she eventually retired after 33 years with the company.
Tina is a volunteer with Southeastern Greyhound Adoptions where she’s able to use her love for animals to give back to the community.
Vickie joined the Velociteach Team in April 2016. She comes to us after 3 years managing a family owned and operated restaurant and handling all of the restaurant administrative duties. Her first love is early childhood education and she has spent over 10 years working in various elementary schools in Jefferson City, Missouri and Paulding County, Georgia. Vickie completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science with a concentration in Education in 2009. She has a passion for people and for learning. She loves to chat with customers, help others achieve their goals, and provide support through a positive attitude.
Vickie loves to sail on her family Flying Scot sailboat, read books, garden, re-decorate her house, travel whenever possible and walk with her dogs. She currently resides in Acworth, GA with her husband of 25 years and her 2 daughters.
Stephanie Pittman is primarily responsible for designing eLearning courses for InSite by Velociteach. InSite is an online learning platform that offers high-quality, self-paced courses. Using Adobe Captivate, she takes content from our subject matter experts and transforms it into an engaging and interactive way for students to learn various areas of Project Management. She is also the producer and editor of Manage This, a podcast by project managers for project managers.
Stephanie graduated from Kennesaw State University with a degree in Early Childhood Education and currently resides in Marietta, GA. In her free time she enjoys watching Marvel movies and spending time with her friends.
Bob Mahler brings over 20 years of project management experience to his dual Velociteach roles as Director of Business Development and Instructor. Mahler teaches Velociteach’s live as well as virtual courses, including PMP® exam preparation, in both private business and public class settings.
His project management roles began as “military operations” while in the U. S. Army. Bob became a communications expert as a Green Beret, fulfilling many roles during training and combat missions in Egypt, Kenya, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait. After 12 years of service, he left the military in 1998 as a service-connected disabled veteran.
Bob’s technical skills led him to Nextel, Nextel Partners, and Sprint-Nextel in a variety of roles. While in the telecommunications field, he managed a range of infrastructure projects for regional markets as well as strategic national projects including disaster recovery projects in support of hurricanes Katrina, Rita, and Wilma. Bob also supported responses to California wild fires, the Virginia Tech shooting, and a wide range of federal law enforcement training needs. He has also managed and supported project teams for the Department of Homeland Security.
Bob holds a B.A. in Organizational Leadership from Wheeling Jesuit University, and an M.B.A. in Technology Management from the University of Phoenix.
Greg has over 20 years of experience as a project manager for large-scale training course development projects. As The Home Depot’s Manager of elearning Development, Greg was the project manager for the creation of over 100 eLearning courses available to The Home Depot’s 350,000 associates. In this role, Greg was responsible for managing project work streams in Information Technology, Human Resources, Operations, and Merchandising. Prior to working with The Home Depot, Greg was Manager of Change Management Services for Accenture. Greg oversaw all phases of project management for training development and delivery projects that accompanied the implementation of enterprise-wide software. With Accenture, Greg worked with clients in the telecommunications, utility, and health insurance industries.
Additionally, Greg was a full time professor of Human Resource Development for several years and has served as training consultant to several large corporations including IBM, Citibank, and Motorola.
Greg holds a B.S. in Business Administration and an M.A. in Higher Education Administration from Ohio State University, an M.S. in Management Science from Georgia State University, and a Ph.D. in Instructional Design from Florida State University.
Greg lives in Smyrna, Georgia with his wife. In their free time, they enjoy spending time at their vacation home in Florida and traveling throughout the world.
Harold Samson brings to Velociteach more than 25 years’ experience in Application Systems Development, 20 of these involved in all aspects of Project Management. As Senior Principal and co-founder of C.W. Costello and Associates, a national provider of business systems consulting services to Fortune 500 companies, Harold gained hands-on experience managing project teams in all phases of the system development life cycle within many different industries, including telecom, insurance, banking, manufacturing, public utilities, retail, publishing, and government.
Harold has been an active investor for almost 30 years, and as an entrepreneur has provided venture capital and leadership skills to three different start-up companies.
Harold graduated with honors from the University of Florida, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Computer and Information Science. He also holds a master’s degree in Economics from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. Harold and his wife live just outside Orlando, Florida.
Jason Breitfeller is a Project Management Professional (PMP®) and the owner of BreitIdeas Inc., a business management consulting firm focused on implementing proven solutions for complex, small business challenges. In addition to Jason’s consulting business, he acts as a part-time Instructional Specialist for the Government Contracting Program at the National Center for Small Business Information (NCSBI) at Florida Institute of Technology. Through this position Jason provides guidance to small businesses on locating, understanding and pursuing government contracts and Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) Programs.
Prior to founding BreitIdeas, Jason functioned in the Aerospace and Defense industry, holding various business management and program management positions with Northrop Grumman and L-3 Communications. Through his experience in managing an advanced development engineering group responsible for creating innovative solutions for the U.S. government, Jason has gained advanced knowledge and understanding of several government organizations such as the Department of Defense, the Department of Transportation, and the Department of Homeland Security.
Jason earned a B.S. in Business Administration from Oglethorpe University, holds an M.B.A. from Webster University, and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Leadership and Development from Barry University. In addition to his PMP® certification, Jason also maintains professional certification as a Lead Auditor for ISO9000. He and his wife live near Orlando, Florida.
Cindy is a Project Management Professional and owner of Pacioli Advisory, LLC, an accounting and finance outsourcing and project management consulting firm focusing on centers of excellence for fast growing small businesses. She has more than 20 years of experience in project management for the consulting, automotive, real estate, consumer products, public accounting, professional services, healthcare, not-for-profit, and manufacturing industries. Cindy has worked with companies such as The Coca-Cola Company, Cingular, S-1, AT&T, Ford, HealthSouth, Delphi, Fannie Mae, Novelis, and Texas Children’s Hospital. Cindy is skilled as an internal and external consultant in analyzing existing financial operations and implementing the strategies, processes, and technologies to improve productivity and efficiency. She has primarily worked with clients to identify and analyze problems and develop innovative approaches to resolving problems, settling issues, and providing direction.
Cindy is a Georgia Certified Public Accountant, a Project Management Professional, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of South Florida. She also holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Kennesaw State University where she graduated with honors. She is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, Phi Kappa Phi, the Georgia Society of CPAs, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the Project Management Institute.
Cindy currently lives in Smyrna, Georgia with her husband and two children. In her spare time, she enjoys endurance sports, particularly marathons and century rides.
Johnny Webb is a Qualified ITIL® Expert with over 40 years of experience designing and implementing IT service processes to support customers at all levels, from executives to end users.
During his tenure with Tandem Computers / Compaq / Hewlett-Packard, Johnny was instrumental in driving IT service management programs at the corporate level to improve both internal and external customer satisfaction. As a founding member, team leader, and then manager of Compaq/HP’s Corporate Escalations Executive Action Team, he designed processes to effectively escalate customers’ IT service issues to management and developed solutions for successfully driving action plans to completion. The process improvement changes that he helped to implement became standards for exception escalation throughout the company.
Johnny’s areas of expertise include project management, software development, quality management, communications, remote team management, and worldwide customer support. He became a Qualified ITIL Expert in 2009 and now shares his expertise with Velociteach’s students as our lead ITIL courseware designer and class instructor.
Johnny holds a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Missouri, an M.B.A. from Georgia State University, and an M.S. in Information Technology from Nova Southeastern University. Johnny enjoys RV-ing whenever possible, but currently resides in Acworth, GA.
Frank has over 25 years of experience in project management as a consultant and instructor for clients such as BellSouth, Worldspan, AT&T, and Southwest Airlines. For many years he maintained a dual-career in both project and I.T. management at companies such as SITA, Verizon Telematics, and the Royal Bank of Scotland. His expertise was in implementing PMOs and enterprise project management tools, as well as providing training in project management and tools. Frank was also a founding member of Emedikon, a consulting firm specializing in medical practice management and electronic medical record systems.
Having worked in several industries including telecomm, aviation and facility management, Frank also had the opportunity to work for the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games (ACOG) on special projects such as the Torch Relay, cycling (road and mountain), and Olympic Village Housing Allocation. A highlight of his tenure there was carrying the Olympic Torch in his hometown of Gainesville, Florida.
A member of the Project Management Institute (PMI) since 1996, Frank was president of the Atlanta Chapter of PMI, and sat on the PMI Global Ethics Review Committee for 4 years. He is currently a member of both PMI and the Association of Change Management Professionals (ACMP), and holds a B.S. in Hospitality Management from Florida International University.
Frank lives in Atlanta with 2 college-age sons, and spends his free time traveling in addition to racing and restoring vintage automobiles.
Berne has more than 25 years’ experience in managing projects. Berne has managed activities as large as a ten year, six billion dollar ship design and construction effort for the U. S. Coast Guard, as small as a multi-week software modification effort.
In between, Berne has managed or supervised planning and execution of projects in communications, education management, electrical generation and distribution, financial management, natural resources extraction, facilities construction, and regional economic development. As an independent consultant in project management, strategic planning, and continuous process improvement, Berne formerly managed a portfolio of commercial software development projects for Cloud and Smarter Infrastructure, a division of IBM’s Software Group, in Austin.
Of particular note, Berne authored his brand’s agile software development model following the Agile Manifesto. Mr. Miller has a Bachelors in Engineering from the US Coast Guard Academy, Masters in Management Science from the US Naval Postgraduate School, and Masters Diploma in International Studies from the US Naval War College. He is a Certified Professional Logistician (CPL) and a designated Project Management Professional (PM).
Margaret Love became a Fellow of the Life Management Institute (FLMI) in 1987, achieved her Project Management Professional (PMP) certification in 2000, and earned her Six Sigma Black Belt in 2001, making her a certified project management and process improvement nerd. She has over 30 years experience managing projects and project managers in information technology for the life insurance and utility industries.
Margaret says, “Project management is my favorite process, project managers are my favorite people, and there is not much I’d rather do than talk with project managers about project management!”
A summa cum laude graduate of Charleston Southern University, Margaret lives in her favorite city, Greenville, SC.
Velociteach and InSite welcome Neal Whitten, PMP as a course author and contributor to InSite’s eLearning courses. Neal’s initial series of courses has been well-received by InSite’s community of users.
Neal Whitten is a popular speaker, trainer, consultant, mentor and best-selling author in the areas of leadership and soft skills, project management and employee development. He has over 35 years of front-line leadership, project management and human resource experience. He has authored seven books and written over 100 articles for professional magazines and had been a contributing editor of PMI’s PM Network® magazine for over 15 years.
In his 23 years at IBM, Neal held both project leader and management positions. He managed the development of numerous software products, including operating systems, business and telecommunications applications, and special-purpose programs and tools. For three years, he also managed and was responsible for providing independent assessments on dozens of projects for an Assurance group. Neal is president of The Neal Whitten Group, created shortly after leaving IBM in 1993.
